We believe you should know exactly how a recommendation is made. Here is our method, without the mystery.
Planetary positions from a standard ephemeris
The Moon's position — which decides the nakshatra and tithi — is computed astronomically for the exact date and place, not read from a printed table. We use the Swiss Ephemeris with the sidereal zodiac and Lahiri ayanamsa — the same conventions traditional Panchangam publishers use.
The five limbs, checked for every day
Tithi (lunar day), nakshatra (star), vara (weekday), yoga and karana are each checked against your occasion. Inauspicious overlaps — Rahu Kalam, Bhadra (Vishti) and eclipse days — are excluded from the recommended windows. We prefer Abhijit muhurat (except Wednesdays) and auspicious Choghadiya bands.
Your calendar tradition, respected
Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and North-Indian (Purnimanta) reckonings can disagree — the same day can be welcomed in one and avoided in another. Choose yours under Advanced options and we apply its rules.
